Greetings of love, peace and joy!
Today we celebrate the launching of the website of Heartstream Resources Phils. It is timely that we do this in this season of great joy because of the greatest gift that we have received and that is God Himself incarnate. He is the embodiment of love, we love because God is love and He first loved us.
Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! 2 Corinthians 9:15
The ministry of Heartstream Resources Phils. is founded on the command of our Lord Jesus Christ to love one another. “A new commandment I give to you that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples if you have love for one another.” John 13: 34, 35 NKJV
This is expressed in the many ways that we apply member care or missionary care as more commonly known. Member or missionary care is a not just a personal practice but involves community, a mutual responsibility that members have for each other in a group, founded on Biblical commands and examples. In Matthew 10, when Jesus trained his disciples as missionaries, he was operating in the ancient world concept of community. “In the ancient world identity was tied to family and community. It was understood that in showing hospitality, one welcomed not just an individual, but implicitly, the community who sent the person and all that they represent. Therefore, welcoming a disciple of Jesus would mean receiving the very presence of Jesus himself and of the one who sent him, God the Father.” (Working Preacher, 26 June 2011).
Through this website, we hope to share learning materials and events that will help edify and encourage our mission and church communities in the practice of member care. This will hopefully result in thriving and resilient faithful servants of the Most High. We also hope to raise practitioners who embrace the lifestyle of member care with whatever gifts, abilities and resources the Lord has blessed them with.
